Application Deadlines for Summer 2010

After the deadline dates, applications will be accepted on the basis of availability of space in the program.

Program Costs & Application Requirements
Tuition fees are based on a per week cost (Monday – Saturday) and include access to all 2010 Toronto Summer Music Festival events. Musicians can apply for up to four weeks.

MASTER CLASSES FOR INSTRUMENTALISTS

$400 CDN per week for solo instrumentalist

Master Class applications must include the following:

  1. A completed and signed application form;
  2. A curriculum vitae;
  3. Two letters of recommendation from current or previous music teachers;
  4. A 12 minute audition recording: audio recordings in CD format only (no DVDs or MP3 will be accepted), and
  5. A non-refundable application fee of $65 (CDN).

 

CHAMBER MUSIC COACHING

$200 per week per ensemble member

Chamber music coaching is for pre-formed ensembles only.

Chamber Music applications must include the following:

  1. A completed and signed application form;
  2. A curriculum vitae for the ensemble;
  3. A curriculum vitae for each member of the ensemble, including contact information;
  4. Two letters of recommendation from current or previous coaches of the ensemble;
  5. A 12 minute audition recording of the ensemble: audio recordings in CD format only (no DVDs or MP3s will be accepted), and
  6. A non-refundable application fee of $65 (CDN) for the ensemble.

 

STRING QUARTET WORKSHOP

$800 CDN per week per quartet ($200 per quartet member)

The String Quartet Workshop is for pre-formed quartets only.

String Quartet Workshop applications must include the following:

  1. A completed and signed application form;
  2. A curriculum vitae for the quartet;
  3. A curriculum vitae for each member of the quartet, including contact information;
  4. Two letters of recommendation from current or previous coaches of the quartet;
  5. A 12 minute audition recording of the quartet: audio recordings in CD format only (no DVDs or MP3s will be accepted), and
  6. A non-refundable application fee of $65 (CDN).

 

COMPOSITION WORKSHOP

$400 per composer as active participant

Composition Workshop applications must include the following:

  1. A completed and signed application form;
  2. A curriculum vitae;
  3. Two letters of recommendation from current or previous music teachers;
  4. A complete string quartet score;
  5. A recording of this string quartet (if available), and
  6. A non-refundable application fee of $65 (CDN).


Application Notes

  • All applicants will be informed of their status by May 15, 2010.
  • Application & Tuition fees include taxes.
  • Acceptance must be confirmed by June 15, 2010 to hold your position.
  • Tuition must be paid in full by June 15, 2010.
  • Accommodation must be reserved through Toronto Summer Music by June 15, 2010.
  • Under no circumstances will any fees be refunded.
  • Incomplete applications will be put aside until all the required documents have been received.
  • Application materials will not be returned (including recordings).
  • Scholarships will be granted on the basis of excellence in performance and financial need.
  • Musicians who wish to apply for more than one program must submit a separate application for each program.
